What i will learn?

Upon completing the Civics Form Four course on Edukea, students should achieve the following outcomes:

1. Understanding of Constitutional and Legal Rights

  • Students will have a strong knowledge of the Tanzanian constitution, citizens' rights and responsibilities, and the principles of good governance, rule of law, and accountability.

2. Informed Insight into Democratic Processes

  • Students will understand the fundamentals of democracy, including the roles of various government branches, election processes, and the importance of active citizenship.

3. Awareness of Human Rights and Social Justice

  • Students will gain a deep awareness of human rights issues, including gender equality, children’s rights, and justice, and will be able to discuss the significance of social justice in Tanzanian society.

4. Strong Sense of Citizenship and National Identity

  • Students will understand the values of citizenship, civic responsibilities, and patriotism, as well as how cultural diversity and unity contribute to national identity.

Requirements

To succeed in the Civics Form Four course on Edukea, students should meet the following requirements:

1. Foundation in Form One to Form Three Civics Concepts

  • A solid understanding of foundational civics topics such as governance, human rights, and civic responsibilities, as covered in earlier forms.

2. Interest in Current Affairs and Social Issues

  • An awareness of local, national, and global issues, including an understanding of how these affect individuals and communities.

3. Access to Learning Materials

  • Access to the relevant civics textbooks, study guides, and Edukea’s online resources to follow the NECTA syllabus effectively.

4. Critical Thinking and Analytical Skills

  • Ability to think critically about social and political issues, analyze arguments, and form well-informed opinions, especially on topics like democracy, justice, and governance.

5. Participation in Group Discussions and Debates

  • Willingness to engage in discussions, debates, and group activities that build an understanding of diverse perspectives and social responsibilities.

6. Access to Technology and Internet

  • A device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) with internet access to use Edukea’s online learning materials, submit assignments, and conduct research on current events and civics topics.

7. Commitment to Study and Application of Civics Concepts

  • Consistent review and application of civics concepts to everyday situations and readiness to apply civics knowledge in exams and real-life scenarios.

Description

The Civics Form Four course on Edukea is designed to deepen students' understanding of government, democracy, human rights, and civic responsibilities, with a focus on Tanzania’s political, social, and economic structures. This course builds on the foundational civics knowledge from previous years, preparing students to be informed, responsible citizens who actively participate in their communities and society.

Course Description

In Civics Form Four, students explore advanced topics such as the constitution, legal rights and obligations, leadership, good governance, and international relations. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, encouraging students to analyze and discuss issues related to democracy, justice, and social development. The course prepares students for the NECTA exam and provides them with the knowledge to navigate civic duties and understand their role in national development.
